Course Contents

Weekly Schedule

1) Comprehend visual inspection principles, test standards, documentation and recording of results
2) Explain basic logic of test with penetrating liquid. Identify surface tension, cohesion and adhesion. Realize materials used in tests. Make leakage test with this method. surface inspection applications
3) Recognize device and equipments( power source, transformatör, indicator,liquid used, ultraviolet light )used in Magnetic particle test. Identify advantages, disadvantages and limitations of test. Apply the way of test in laboratory conditions and evaluate the findings
4) Explain the formation of Eddy current test. Explain induction regarding primary and secondary concepts in transformator.Explain the application of eddy current system method. Explain the formation of eddy current in metal particles with different geometry by ration and control procedures, testing of work parts by Eddy current via right hand rule in electrics. Identify the conductivity of materials and magnetic permeability
5) Explain the need of tests with Infrared, the basic phsical principles the test
6) Compare Radiography with radographic methods. Explain the formation of vision in radiographic method. Identify the properties of radiographic vision. Explain the vision obtained with radiographic method. Realize the properties of X and Gamma rays and where to use them. Realize the fact that Gamma ray is not effective so much on non-living things. Identify the concepts of absorbtion and dispersion and their effects on film. Identify ray power unit (rontgen)and compare it with the others
7) Realize the properties of radiographic devices and its components. Explain radioactivity. Identify radioactivity power unit( curie). Recognize the important radioisotopes used in gamma radiography and explain the properties. Explain how to use radiographic devices. Realize the protection ways of radiation. Recognize the international standards of radiography

9) Ultrasonic test, sound waves,sound energy rate, acoustic impedance, sound pressure, other ultrasonic waves, the diffusion speed pf sound in different materials, snell law, refraction and reflection, the production and perception methods of ultrasonic energy
10) Magnetostrictive and piezoelectricity, Probs and ultrasonic test procedures, test equipments, the geometry of ultrasonic waves, the reasons of loss of ultrasonic energy,desibel and gain, ultrasonic wave and the structure and functioning of test device, important methods used for ultrasonic tests ( impuse, echo, resonance)
11) The control of discontinuity on metal surfaces, thr calibration of ultrasonic device with calibration blocks before every test
12) Physical principles of Spectroscophic method, alloy analysis of metal materails chemical compound is not known with spectrometer
13) New NDT methods and applications, other NDT tests which are not included in the lesson content but used with technological developments, observations, vacume box, foam test in pnomatic systems
14) Preparation of test procedure, using of test standards
15) Evaluation of the course and general revision
16) Final examination
