Course Contents

Plasma arc-welding, beam welding methods (electron beam and laser beam), solid phase welding, electric resistance welding, friction welding, friction elements by welding, diffusion welding method, explosive welding, ultrasonic welding method, welding robots.

Weekly Schedule

1) Identifying the shielding-gas welding. the types of shielding gas welding.
2) TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), MIG-MAG (Metal Inert Gas, Metal Active Gas) and Plasma welding processes.
3) The kinds of features used shielding gas.
4) The properties of powders used in submerged arc welding.
5) The principles of submerged arc welding.
6) Various materials with MIG-MAG welding processes.
7) The friction welding processes.
8) Midterm examination/Assessment
9) Diffusion welding. Ultrasonic welding.
10) Welded Metal and ceramic joints.
