4) Determining the proper techniques to characterize the formation of microstructures in fusion welded joints.

6) Determining and defining the discontinuities formed in fusion welded joints.
7) Distinguishing the variations of microstructures in heat affacted zone depening on welding and heat treatment conditions.
8) Determining and defining the discontinuities formed in resistance and solid state welding.
9) Determining the toughness of welded joints, factors effecting toughness by applying toughness tests.

This course equips candidates with in-depth knowledge on Arc physics in welding; heat transfer in welding; properties of materials to be welded; microstructures formed during solidification in fusion welded joints; discontinuities in fusion welded joints; microstructures formed depending on the welding and heat treatment conditions; discontinuities formed in resistance and solid state welding; toughness of welded joints manufactured by different methods; factors effecting toughness and toughness tests.
