Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Solving the basic probability problems.
2) Providing information about discrete probability distributions, continuous probability distributions, random samples, and their statistics.
3) Providing information about statistical hypothesis tests and significance tests, compliance tests.
4) Explaining the meaning and necessity of random sampling.
5) Applying regression analysis, correlation analysis and analysis of variance to decision problems.
6) Deciding statistically by the help of the computer.

Course Contents

Fundamentals of probability, discrete probability distributions, continuous probability distributions, random samples and their statistics, random sampling means, estimation, sampling design, and Introduction to the techniques of statistical hypothesis testing, significance - conformance testing, regression and correlation analysis, variance analysis, computer aided statistical decision making, application examples.
