Course Contents

Using methods of midi sequencer, wave and notation programs

Weekly Schedule

1) Computer and sound concept Sound cards, equipments about sound
2) Sound formats Programs for different sound formats
3) Audio softwares
4) Sound conversion between different sound formats
5) Audio softwares and audio sound analysis with these softwares
6) Notation programs
7) Introduce to Finale program and install of it
8) Menus and tools in Finale program
9) Keyboard using and speedy entry tool in Finale software, Multi-part editing/wiriting on the same staff in Finale program
10) Adding lyrics to the staff in Finale Software, Note writing exercises in Finale program
11) Uses of other notation programs: Encore, Sibelius, Cakewalk Score Writer
12) Sequencer softwares, Install process, and use with MIDI devices, of Cubase program
13) Recording, editing and quantization processes in Cubase program, Arrangement works in Cubase program
14) The other sequencer softwares: Cakewalk
15) Music-related material and resources research on the internet
16) Linux operating system and alternative music programs in linux to the music programs that used in windows operating system
