Course Contents

Determination of the main problem areas of Turkish political life and determination of the reflection of these problem areas to the present day politics.

Weekly Schedule

1) To investigate problem areas of politics and their solution methods.
2) The institutionalization process of democracy as a political problem area
3) Cultural, structural and conjunctural factors in the prevention of institutionalization
4) Constitution making process and problems
5) Evaluation constitution-making experience and as a political problem in Turkey
6) Constitution problems
7) The results of the failure of civilian constitution in Turkey
8) MIDTERM
9) As a problem, practice sharing power. The sharing of the political power and the problems in the democracy
10) Presidency debates in Turkish politics
11) Unitary state structure in Turkey and discussions on this subject. What is the problem of the disintegration of central government structures?
12) Political and bureaucracy relations and problems in Turkish political life
13) The narrowing of political space and ineffective representative institutions in Turkey.
