The course have both theoretical and empirical parts to be analysed in different weeks. In the theoretical part the EU process of becoming regulatory power, the effect and context of regulatory power and future scenarios of the EU's regulatory capacity will be discussed. In the empirical parts, four different cases will be discussed; namely market competition, digital economy, consumer health and safety and environment. By providing theoretical and empirical aspects of the EU's regulatory power, this course will provide a corrective ground to the current discourse that portrays the EU as a weak and declining power.
