Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Students will understand the relationships between politics and economics..
2) Students will be able to evaluate the economic variables that determine voter preferences.
3) Students will be able to evaluate the economic developments before and after the elections.
4) Students will be able to determine the economic business cycle arising from politics.
5) Students will be able to estimate the consequences of political interventions on economy.

Course Contents

The economic effects of economic policies implemented by governments with an election focus, the effects of economic developments on voter preferences, the effect of interest groups on the economic policies of governments, the interaction of economy and politics with each other.
