According to the Bank, sustainable tourism is a proven tool for development that benefits countries and communities around the world. When properly managed, tourism can contribute to local economic development, strengthen human capital and improve livelihoods, especially for women, rural entrepreneurs. Supporting adult, and women employment in sustainable tourism and tourism in the 2000s, the World Bank plays an important role in sustainable tourism and employment in tourism.
