1) Design an original research subject or scientific question providing contribution for the field.
2) Develop the hypothesis relating to the research subject
3) Recognize different research methods related to the field and select the suitable method for its subject
4) Classify the data and prepare the research findings with the scientific methods in a written form.
5) Constitute a research proposal to identify the subject of research.

Course Contents

The course will focus on the development of online journalism and the production and distribution of content in online journalism.

1) Introduction and information about the course
2) New communication technologies and journalism
3) Some basic concepts: Digitization, convergence, interaction, hypertext, multirole, versatile storytelling
4) The emergence of online journalism in the world and development in Turkey
5) Skills in employment and labor in online journalism
6) User participation in online journalism
7) Interview with a guest online journalist
8) Midterm
9) Content production in online journalism (web content, visual, video, audio and podcast usage)
10) Search engine optimization in online journalism (SEO)
11) Distribution of content in online journalism through social networking platforms
12) Economic dynamics of online journalism
13) Blogs and participatory journalism
14) Ethical and legal regulations in online journalism
15) Interview with a guest online journalist
16) Final exam
