Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Discuss historical origins and reasons of the conflicts in the Middle East.
2) Comment on recent developments in the Middle East such as Gulf Wars, the project for Greater Middle East Initiative, energy policies of great powers.
3) Analyze possible political solutions to contemporary conflicts in the Middle East.
4) Evaluate the major changes in Turkish foreign policy towards the Middle East and interpret them according to domestic political developments.
5) Evaluate the history of Arab-Israeli conflict and analyze its effect on the Middle East.
