2) Evaluate the impacts of international politics on Turkish foreign policy.
3) Analyze the agenda of contemporary Turkish foreign policy.
4) Analyze the development of Turkish foreign policy from the foundation of Turkish Republic to the present.
5) Recognize major problems of Turkish foreign policy and analyze possible solutions to these problems.

Course Contents

The course covers these topics: Origins and fundamentals of Turkish foreign policy, Turkish foreign policy during the time of Atatürk, Second World War and Turkey, The Cold War and Turkey, Turkey's relations with the EU, the U.S., Russia, China, Japan, Balkans, Middle East, Caucasus and Central Asia, the effects of economic developments and changes in international relations on Turkish foreign policy.
