This course tries to examine the International Organizations by dealing with the origins and the nature of them, as the introductory part of it. After discussing the idea of multilateralism in the 20th century, some functional and specialized institutions such as WHO, ILO, IBRD, IMF, and FAO will be explained. Also, after analyzing the aims and the failures of the League of Nations, the United Nations (UN) system will be investigated in detail. In this part, the genesis of the UN, the principles, structures and its operations will be discussed. Following the UN system, regionalism, as other significant part of the course, will focus on different parts of the world with their specific institutions, such as NATO, European Council, OSCE, NAFTA, ASEAN, ECOWAS, and the League of Arab States. The course will end by discussing the future of International Organizations.
