2) Analyze the political, economic, social and cultural lives of countries of the region.
3) Analyze the democratization process, coups, civil society movements and issues such as development of human rights and women's rights in countries of the region.
4) Analyze the policies of United States and other world powers towards the region.
5) Develop general information about Latin American politics.

Course Contents

In this course a general history of the colonization of the Latin American region will be provided along with an introduction to the region. The democratization processes of regional states will be examined one by one through the study of political, economic, social and cultural spheres of region states. Alongside this, the policies of the United States and other world powers towards the region will be analyzed.
