Ethnic Sociology
In this course, musical cultures and traditions in Turkey will be studied. In the historical process the musical cultures that existed in the region of Anatolia, musics in ancient Anatolian civilization and music cultures in the present day Anatolia will be examined. Musical traditions of Turks, Lazs, Circassians, Abkhazians, Georgians, Hemsins, Tatars, Kurds, Arabs, Assyrians, Armenians, Jews, Greeks, Bosnians, Macedons and Gypsies will be reviewed.
