Economic History

Course Contents

It covers the urbanization process, historical development of cities, urban culture, urban life quality, new city models, urban transformation, sustainable urbanization.

5) Modernism - Change of cities in postmodernism processes
6) Development of commerce in urban settlements and Central Business Area
7) Urban sociology: Theoretical approaches
8) Methods of writing urban history. It is the montage of the city into the geographical whole.
9) Urban history. The formation and historical development of cities. Planned cities, spontaneous cities.
10) Pre-Ottoman Anatolian city.
11) Modernization and Ottoman cities.
12) City institutions in Ottoman cities. (Pre-modern and modern.)
13) Definition of city history study, Turkey and the history of urban history studies
