The K-Ar method of dating; Isotopes of K and Ar, applicable of the method for the rocks and minerals. 40Ar-39Ar method of dating; Principles of the method, the incremental and laser techniques. applicable of the method for the rocks and minerals. Interpretation of the results. Comparison of the two methods and their accuracy and precision. The Rb-Sr method of dating; Dating of Rb-bearing minerals in igneous rocks. Dating of metamorphic and unmetamorphic rocks. The other radiometric dating methods, such as U-Th-Pb, Nd-Sm, C-14, and their advantage and disadvantages.
