Course Contents

The fundamental principle of statistical physics. Thermodynamical functions. First, second and third law of thermodynamics. Entropy and Gibbs distribution. Boltzman distribution and applications. Fermi-Dirac and Bose-Einstein distributions. Electron gas. Relativistic Electron gas. Photon gas. Heat capacity of solid object. Debye Theory. Phase transitions. Fluctuations. Calculation of energy and chemical potential of dense matter.
