1) Discuss Turkish political life by examining its history, major historical figures, political institutions, and essential concepts up to the contemporary era
2) Analyze the socio-economic and cultural conditions that shape Turkish politics
3) Do a particular case study about Turkey.
4) Gain knowledge on the social and political changes during the modernization process of Turkey along with the various ideological responses to it.
5) Use different research tools and presentation techniques.

The aim of this course is to introduce key debates and themes for comprehending the politics of Turkey and special attention will be given to the examination of cultural context, institutional structure, socio-political processes, as well as movements and developments that affect the shaping of the political system of the country.
