Course Contents

: The aim of this course is to promote the understanding of the role of the justice in criminal law. It provides many various perspectives in the relationship between justice theories and the philosophy of crime and punishment from Plato to Foucault. This course mainly focuses on the philosophical problems arising from the criminal law. For this, the course embraces a wide range of topics: Criminal responsibility, social and economic theories related to criminal acts, the concept of victimization and criminal personality.
