Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) The course gives the ability to think about historical sociology, philosophy and cinema relations.
2) The course offers methods to understand the connection between the developmental stages of cinema and the social transformation processes.
3) Develops the ability to make philosophical evaluations about movies.
4) The course contributes to understanding the relationship of cinema art with history and society through selected films.
5) Develops the ability to examine the role of historical sociological theories and philosophical approaches in the analysis of social and political perception towards cinema.

Course Contents

The course covers the development stages of the art of cinema, the developing cinema movements, the role of cinema in the changing phases of societies and the audience transformed in this change process through philosophical and historical sociological theories.
