Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Describe exercise physiology.
2) Identify fundamental transient and permanent adaptations of different systems in response to exercise (cardiovascular, respiratory, neuromuscular, neuroendocrine, energy metabolism).
3) Explain the physiological basis and the practical application of exercise in the treatment and prevention of a variety of diseases that have a strong behavioral component such as Type 2 diabetes, obesity and osteoporosis.
4) Measure various physiological functions.
5) Comprehend clinical importance of exercise

In this lecture, students are provided with a depth knowledge on the quantification of exercise;cardiovascular responses; respiratory responses; muscle and bone responses ;gastrointestinal, metabolic, and endocrine responses; aging, immune, and psychiatric responses.
