Course Contents

Genomic organization of E. coli will be overviewed. The organization and workflow of lac operon of E. coli will be studied as a model for mRNA expression. The AmpC beta-lactamase of Enterobacter will be discussed as model for protein regulation. The relationship between genetic variations in Human and infectious diseases will be discussed on the basis of the selective adaptation of blood diseases and Plasmodium falciparum infections.
