Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Explain the concept of measurement and make the measurement of electrical and mechanical quantities.
2) Explain the interaction of quantities measured with eachother and explain that they are objective-based and require checking.
3) Comprehend .measurements as the important part of a process.
4) Apply measurement, measurement errors, electrical measurements, current, voltage, resistance, capacitance, inductance, frequency, power and make performance analysis.
5) Calculate calipers, micrometers, and figural dimensional measurements.
6) Explain magnetic, capacitive, photoelectric sensors. the concept of PNP and NPN sensors.
7) Comprehend measurement of proximity sensors, acceleration, force, torque, pressure, flow, temperature.

Course Contents

Definition of measurement, measurement systems, measurement terms, measurement errors, electrical measurements. Current, voltage, resistance, capacity, inductance, frequency, power, work measurements. Dimensional and shape measurements using calliper, micrometer, ruler and protractor. Magnetic, capacitive , photoelectric sensors, PNP and NPN sensors, proximity sensors. Acceleration, force, torque, pressure, flow, temperature measurements.
