Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Recognize and classify the cosmetic preparations
2) Distingush the raw materials that are used in cosmetic and the functions.
3) Classify pigments, explain the functions.
4) Recognize and classify the substances odor donors.
5) Ilustrate the prepations of the cosmetic preparations like soap, detergent, cream, shampoo, hair conditioner, gel, brilliantine, lipstick, eye shadow, blush, nail polish, foundation, powder, perfume, preparates, in the laboratory.
6) Distingush the equipment that operate in industrial production, soap and detergent, hair, skin, makeup cosmetics and fragrances.
7) Draw the production of flow chart for the cosmetic preparations and soap, detergent.
8) Classify the surface active agents, explain that they will be used for which preparatin and which purposes.

Course Contents

This course includes classification,of cosmetic preparations according to application areas, soap and detergent Industry, preparations applied to hair, skin care cosmetics, shaving preparations, oral care products, make-up cosmetics, deodorants and aerosol technology, the perfume and fragrance industry.

Weekly Schedule

1) Topics of presentation and to take advantage of resources and information about the handling course
2) Classification of cleaning and cosmetic preparations according to the using area
3) Materials are used in soap industry, classification of surface active agent, soap production process
4) Raw materials used in the detergent industry-, classification of surface active agents, soap and detergent manufacturing processes
5) Applied to the hair and the production of raw materials used in cosmetic preparations (shampoos, hair care preparations, hair stylizer, hair dyes)
6) Hair conditioner and hair styling preparations
7) Classification of skin care preparations (Cleaniziners, tonics, humidification and maintenance, masks), used raw materials and production stages
8) Midterm examination/Assessment
9) The production of creams and lotions
10) Shaving preparations used in the production of raw materials and production stages, Toothpaste raw materials and production stages
11) Classification of make-up cosmetics, raw materials used in the production, classification of pigments and production stages of make-up cosmetics
12) Production of powder, foundation, blush, eye shadow, lipstick and nail polish
13) Classification of odor preparations,raw materials used in perfumes and fragrances industry , classification of odor material, perfumes and deodorant production stages
14) Fragrance industry
15) Analysis and controls of soap, liquid soap and detergents.
16) Final examination
