Course Contents

This course includes the definition and classification of cosmetics, quality characteristics and quality assurance of cosmetics, structure and problems of skin, aging of skin and protection from UV, structure and characteristics of hair, shampoos and cleanising mechanism, structure of nail and nail damage. color information, the quality of cosmetic properties, analysis applied to cosmetic products. the structure of skin and skin types. minerals, vitamins and the use of cosmetics, basic skin care products and content. dermatological creams, emulsion in cream selection.

Weekly Schedule

1) Definition and classification of cosmetics.
2) Color information and its importance. Cosmetic quality specifications.
3) Analyses applied to cosmetic products: Raw material analyses. Analyses applied to Intermediates
4) Analyses applied to finished products, Analyses applied to packaging material.
5) Structure of the skin. Skin types (oily skin, dry skin, mixed skin ...). Skin problems. Acne formation and causes .
6) Minerals, vitamins and the use of cosmetics.
7) Basic skin care products and their contents
8) Midterm examination/Assessment
9) Dermatological creams. Selection of emulsion.in creams
10) The general characteristics and content of makeup products (blush, foundation, a tonic, lipstick)
11) The structure of hair and its problems. Dandruff, hair loss and causes.
12) Products applied to hair their contents.
13) Physical and chemical features of shampoo. Hair creams and hair dyes. Classification of hair dye.
