Course Contents
This course covers; General construction machinery and equipments, Machines used in construction work and the working principles, Screening and washing machines, Concrete and bituminous mix plants, Safe and economical use of the machines in the construction industry.
Weekly Schedule
1) The construction sector and machine usage requirement2) Construction machines, general components, Operations and maintenance principles
3) General capacity characteristics of the machines used in the construction industry
4) The classification of work machinery that used in Earth-moving
5) Ground digging, loading and transport machines and handling characteristics
6) Soil compaction - spreading machines and handling characteristics
7) Lifting and handling characteristics
8) Midterm examination/Assessment
9) Crushers, screening and washing facilities
10) Concrete manufacturing plants, cement and concrete transport machines
11) Concrete casting and processing machinery and its characteristics
12) Bituminous mix manufacturing facilities. Asphalt laying and compaction machines
13) Auxiliary machinery for general construction work and their properties
14) Operating-cost characteristics of the machines used in the construction industry and job security principles
15) To make presentations covering all topics
