This course spans from the origins of the rise of sociological thought in the eighteenth century, through the classical sociology of Marx, Durkheim, Weber and Simmel in 19th century, and the modern paradigms of functionalism, interactionism, structuralism and critical Marxism developed in 20th century, to the salient versions of contemporary sociological theory presented by Foucault, Baudrillard, Giddens, and Habermas.
