Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Be able to analyse some selected 20th century poetry and novels in terms of some literary theories. Be able to appreciate the values and attitudes of different people and cultures and develop tolerance against different cultures .Be able to compare and contrast the western civilization with that of themselves in view of politics and culture.Develop a preparedness towards the problems to be encountered in real life.Have an aesthetical outlook towards life and develop a philosophical and ideological view through literary texts.Analyse the socio-cultural atmosphere of the century.
