1) Identify the novels by the major 18th century novelists.
2) Differentiate between the novel writing techniques introduced and developed by various writers.
3) Explain the reasons for the emergence of the novel in the 18th century.
4) Acquire the ability to appreciate the values and attitudes of different people and cultures and to be civil and tolerant against different cultures.
5) Compare and contrast the western civilization with that of themselves in view of politics and culture.
6) Develop a preparedness towards the problems that can be encountered in real life.
