1) Acquire the knowledge related to a particular playwright or playwrights, concerning a given theme or topic or movement.
2) Acquire the knowledge and skills to interpret a particular theme or topic.
3) Analyze of the historical, cultural and political background of the literary texts that they study.
4) Develop an aesthetic outlook towards life, developing a philosophical and ideological view through literary texts.
5) Evaluate the contemporary plays in the light of classical concepts of tragedy. Perceive the human experiences via value oriented perspectives.
