THE DOCUMENTATION TEKNIQUES ON EXCAVATION AND RESEACHE
History of Archaeology, particularly Turkish Archaeology and its foundation as a discipline will be examined. The course will analyze excavations conducted in Turkey since the foundation of the discipline. Excavations types and locations will be defined and examined. Excavation techniques and strategies, planning in excavation, interpreting strata, recording and methods of various excavation types will be examined. Methods of field surveys, urban archaeology, underwater archaeology, interaction and integration of other disciplines of science to archaeology will be covered.
