Course Contents

Basic principle of the semiconductors; diodes, and transistors, structures of silicon controlled rectifiers (SCRs), forward and reverse bias characteristics, thermal, mechanical and electrical characteristics, cooling of power semiconductors, SCR firing devices and applications, control and triggering circuits by using integrated circuits, applications of AC to DC, DC to DC, DC to AC, and AC to AC converters, control applications of electrical motors.
