Review of industrial applications of electrical engineering Review of electrical drives; Pros end cons of electric motors; Hybrid systems; Classification of electric motors; International standards about electric motors; Speed-torque characteristics of mechanical loads,requried mechanical power; Operating point, definition, identification, stable and unstable operating points, speed variations; Mechanical elements of a drive system;bearings,clutches,gears; Starting, speed control and breaking of electric motors; Power electronic circuits and systems for AC and DC drives; Four quadrant operation; Closed loop speed and position control;
