9) Computation of internal forces and drawing V-M diagrams of beams.

Principles of Statics. Vectors and vector algebra. Planar force systems. Space force systems. Equilibrium of particles in plane and space. Rigid bodies. Moment of a force about a point and about an axis. Equivalent force systems. Moment of a couple. Equilibrium of rigid bodies in plane and space. Types of supports in plane and space. Center of Gravities. Distributed loads. Moments of inertia. Introduction to Structural systems. Trusses. Analysis of trusses by method of joints and by method of sections. Frames. Beams. Internal forces in beams. Shear and Moment Diagrams in beams.
