Definition of Hydrology. Importance and the methods used. Hydrological cycle. Rain, measurement and analysis. Evaporation and evapotranspiration losses. Seepage. Ground water flow. Flow measurements and analysis of records. Surface run-off. Hydrographs. Unit hydrograph theory and rain – run-off relations. Translation of hydrograph. Applications of statistics in hydrology.
