Hydroelectric power, Irrigation and Drainage, Flood control, River regulation analysis in water resources Water consumption. Water resources and design. Water transmission and system design. Drinking water depots and design. Dams: General definition and classifications. Hydrostatic forces. Earthquake forces on the body and the water. Concrete gravity dams. Planning and design criteria, statical analysis, factor of safety, production principles. Concrete and arch dams: General principles, types of arches, structural analysis and design criteria. Earth dams. Seepage and the shearing stresses at the body and on the base. Fresh water distribution and network of pipes design. Environmental health facilities.
