5) Perform computer aided structural analysis using mode superposition method.

Introduction. Definition of matrix theory of analysis of structures and the method utilized in computer modelling. Introduction to frame and shell elements. Local and global axis system in frame and shell elements, and definition of member forces according to the axis definitions. Computer aided structural modelling. Modeling vertical and lateral loads acting on structures. Load cases and load combinations, their definitions and their multipliers. Structural analysis to determine the dynamic properties of structures, natural periods and mass participations. Equivalent lateral load method and spectral analysis method for seismic analysis of structures.
