Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
1) Students gain knowledge of construction machinery, its classification and importance in the construction industry.
2) Students will learn about the machines used in excavation, loading, horizontal-vertical transmission, transportation, drilling-driving, crushing, screening, washing and soil compaction and their properties.
3) Students will have information about asphalt application details and used construction machines.
4) Students will have information about the cement production facility and the machines used in the facility.
5) Students will have information about the concrete plant and the machines used in it.
6) Students will have information about concrete roads and construction machinery used in its manufacture.

Definition of construction machinery and its importance in the sector. Excavation, loading, horizontal-vertical transmission, transportation, drilling-driving, crushing, screening, washing and soil compaction machines and their properties. Asphalt components and production process. Asphalt application details and used construction machines. Raw materials used in cement production and clinker production process. Cement production facility and examination of the machines used in the facility. Concrete and concrete components. Examination of concrete plant and machines used in the plant. Machines used for transporting, pouring and vibrating concrete. Concrete roads and construction machinery used in its manufacture.
