Course Contents

This course covers;fundamental definition, porosity, water and hydrocarbon saturation, permeability ,fundamental geological information,surface stage, logging truck, logging and recording equipment, subsurface stage: formation, invasion, properties of well, suitable log stages, assessments of well logging, geotechnical instruments, drilling, soil sampling and laboratory testing, mud logging, basic electrical logs-resistivity, to estimate porosity via sonic velocity and nuclear measurements, acoustic logs, measurements of radioactivity, ion, temperature in drill holes, gamma ray (GR) log, gamma ray spectroscopy (NGS) log, spontaneous potential (SP) log, temperature log, caliber log, dip meter log, saturation of sweet and salty waters, formation assessment with magnetic resonance, well scanning, assessment of borehole logging, practices, sampling and analyzing to describe of the logs, lithologic descriptions, porosity and saturation calculations, to be used nomogram, diagram, chart, and graphics etc. of the assessment on logs.
