1) Interpreting the major plate tectonic processes
2) Examining the tectonic and magmatic processes during development of ocean basins
3) Examining the behaviour of continents during global tectonic processes such as rifting and break-up
4) Magma progress in plate loss and collision zones; and interpreting the mechanisms such as enlargement and evolution of continents in these stages

This course covers outline evidence for lithospheric plate motion and continental drift; describing convergent, divergent, and transform types of plate boundaries; describing the origin of magma formed during plate tectonic processes; relating volcanic activities and features to convergent, divergent, and intraplate settings; describing the geologic activities that occur at lithospheric plate boundaries;relating the rock cycle to plate tectonics.
