Course Contents

Semiconductors, ideal diodes, zener diodes, pnp transistor, npn transistor, cutoff and saturation, application to digital logic circuits, DTL Integrated Circuit (IC), TTL logic, the junction field-effect transistor (JFET), Metal- Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistors (MOSFET), BJT amplifiers, FET amplifiers.

Weekly Schedule

1) Semiconductors, p and n type materials, biasing.
2) Diodes, ideal diode, real diode, current-voltage characteristics.
3) Diode circuits, rectifiers, clippers, clampers.
4) Logic circuits using diodes.
5) Diodes types: Zener diodes, LED, photodiodes, varicaps.
6) Transistors, transistor types, operating modes, cutoff, active, saturation modes.
7) BJT type amplifiers, transistor operations at active region, small signal analysis.
8) Midterm examination/Assessment
9) Darlington transistors, multiple amplifiers, TTL, ECL circuits.
10) Field Effect Transistors (FET), Junction Field Effect Transistors (JFET)
11) Metal-Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistors (MOSFET).
12) MOSFET Lojic Gates.
13) Oscillators, Differantial Amplifiers.
