Course Contents

This course gives the professional competence to practice their original designs wirh silkscreen technique on the different surfaces

Weekly Schedule

1) What is the print? What are the printing techniques used in ceramic art and industry? What are the characteristics of serigraphy printing?
2) Introduction of materials used in serigraphy printing. The effect of silk cloth structures and numbers on print quality and appearance. Rake varieties and selection according to printing materials, preparation of pastry / dyes used in silk screen printing. Pressure effect of underprint material.
3) Silk tension on the sieve frames, prepared emulsion emulsion, drying of the pieces, preparations for exposure and exposure, description of stages of preparation
4) Beginning of sketch studies for design and creation of visual expression language according to technique by associating designs with technique (1st design drawing week)
5) Beginning of sketch studies for design and creation of visual expression language according to technique by associating designs with technique (2nd design drawing week)
6) Starting out from the selected sketches, drawing the designs on the computer according to the silk screen print logic and technique, and designing the visual expression language according to the technique by associating the designs with the technique (3rd design drawing week)

8) Preparing the output of the acetate films of the patterns to be used in the screen exposure, taking the films, emulsifying the film, preparing the exposure and performing the exposure processes.
9) Preparation of dye / pastes according to the number of prints / color in the design laboratory and application of test printing on ceramic tiles in the technology laboratory (1st week of application)
10) In the technology laboratory, preparation of the paint / pastes according to the number of prints / color in the design, and the application of the color print on the ceramic tile (2nd week of application)
11) In the technology laboratory, preparation of the paint / pastes according to the number of prints / color in the design, and the application of the color print on the ceramic tile (3rd week of application)
12) In the technology laboratory, preparation of the paint / pastes according to the number of prints / color in the design, and the application of the color print on the ceramic tile (4th week of application)
13) Printing and reproduction of the planned color design on another ceramic material other than the ceramic tile (5th week of application)
14) Printing and reproduction of different color designs on different ceramic materials other than ceramic tiles (6th week of application)
15) Printing and reproduction of different color designs on different ceramic materials other than ceramic tiles (7th week of application)
16) Joining / installation of printed ceramic tiles and different ceramic materials to form the whole pattern. FINAL EXAM
