Course Contents

Besides traditional techniques, decorations used as a visual enrichment in artistic and industrial ceramic products are once again taken into consideration, as long as the possibilities of today’s art technologies are concerned, thus course includes researches and practices that will give contemporary design a chance to come up.

Weekly Schedule

1) To introduce aim of the course materials, methods and techniques
2) Short description and history of traditional decor techniques used in antiquity ceramics from the ancient times and the beginning of sketches for decor designs.
3) Beginning sketches for decor designs
4) Beginning sketches for decor designs
5) Application of the pattern created from the selected sketches to the determined form or surface by using under glaze-technique (1st week of application)
6) Application of the design created by the way of the selected sketches on the determined form or surface with the glaze technique (2nd application week)
7) Application of the design created by the way of the selected sketches on the determined form or surface with the glaze technique (3rd application week)
8) MIDTERM EXAMINATION
9) Application of sculpture and / or openwork technique on 2 forms determined from the selected sketches (4th week of application)
10) Application of sculpture and / or openwork technique on 2 forms determined from the selected sketches(5th week of application)
11) Application of sculpture and / or openwork technique on 2 forms determined from the selected sketches (6th week of application)
12) Application of sculpture and / or openwork technique on 2 forms determined from the selected sketches (7th week of application)
