At first step course tells that which event can be turned into news and students are taught to turn events suitable for news into news. News Gathering and Writing is one of the basic courses in journalism education and in the scope of this course, students are taught to gather information from scene and write news according to this information. By doing this students are prepared to be a good journalist. Beside the practices conducted in the scope of the course, students are taught ethical values which every journalist must have.
