Course Contents

Having knowledge about film production and design of the cinema. Having understand/teach Turkish cinema history.

Weekly Schedule

1) Students will be informed about the purpose and content of the course. The first period and the beginning of the Turkish Cinema, first Turkish Filmmakers.
2) Information about the periods of the Turkish Cinema. Overall features of Yeşilçam movies.
3) Period of theatrical time's directors, features and major players. Raletions between Turkish Cinema and Turkey's social structure.
4) Period of Filmmaker's directors, featuresand major players. Relations between Turkish Cinema and Turkey's social structure at that time.
5) Period of 1960-1965 directors, features and major players. Relations between Turkish Cinema and Turkey's social structure at that time.
6) Turkish Cinema after 80's: Directors, features and major players. Relations between Turkish Cinema and Turkey's social structure at that time.
7) New Turkish cinema era: features, features and major players. Relations between Turkish Cinema and Turkey's social structure at that time.
8) Midterm examination/Assessment
9) Turkey in the 90's: Changing society and cinema. Relations between Turkish Cinema and social changes after year 2000.
10) Movies in the 2000's: Directors, filmmakers, production and themes.
11) Mid-generation directors and the narrative structure of their films after 90's.
