Course Contents

Identifying the concept of behaviour sciences, presenting the interdisciplinary situation. Understanding the importance of behavioural sciences in strategies of communication

Weekly Schedule

1) General information on the course; defining the purposes and curriculum of the class. An outline of sciences that are included in the scope of behavioral sciences.
2) An overview of main concepts and research methods of behavioral sciences; explanation of the relationship between behavioral sciences and communication studies.
3) Sociology and Behavioral Sciences: Society, social structure and social behaviour.
4) Sociological methods and techniques.
5) Socialization and social groups
6) Impacts of social institutions, statutes and role expectations on human behaviour.
7) Structures of groups and organizations; relations of group communication and organizational with behaviour.
8) Midterm examination/Assessment
9) Introduction to psychology: Basic concepts of psychology in relation with behaviour.
10) Needs as the main source of behaviour.
11) Main concepts of and approaches to developmental psychology.
12) An overview of main concepts and approaches related to constitutions and transformations of attitudes.
13) An outline of learning theories.
14) Defining personality; Emotional, attitudinal, and behavioral aspects of personality.
15) General assessment on subjects treated during the term.
