1) Identify phenomenon and theories of semiotics as one of the communication components.
2) Explain visuality materials spread in a wide range starting from the eye to vision; paper to digital image.
3) Analyse the materials such as pictures, posters, photos in the scope of visuality.
4) Investigate the ways of intercultural visual products via comparative and critical reading.
5) Perceive any kind of visual pattern or design via semiological content.
6) Improve skills of visual material's reception, interpretation and reproduction in various communication environment by focusing on visual perception.

VISIUAL MEDIA ANALYSIS
This course makes students familiar with the core concepts and issues of semiotics such as sign, signified and signifier, culture and its importance from communication point of view, connotation, denotation, codes, decoding and uncoding failures, features of codes and codes in popular culture.
