Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Upon completion of the module, students will be able to explain the fundemental theories and approaches in the science of translation.
2) Upon completion of the module, students will be able to translate a variety of different genre of authentic English and Turkish texts.
3) Upon completion of the course, students will be able to evaluate the appropriateness of the various translations of the same text critically by means of error analysis.
4) Upon completion of the module, students will be able to understand the purposes, functions, and mechanisms of state-of-the-art tools and apply them successfully in the translation process.
5) Upon completion of the module, students will be able to analyse an English/Turkish sentence in terms of its structural/communicative/contextual features, and translate it into Turkish/English.
