1) Recognize the preventive and interventive importance of counseling.
2) Explain counseling models.
3) Expalin organizational and proffesional structure of counseling.
4) Define characteriscitics of an effective counselor.
5) Explain different counseling application areas (i.e. school counseling, mental health counseling, rehabilitation counseling, marriage family and couple counseling, career counseling)
6) Explain the role of measurement and evaluation in counseling.
7) Explain techniques and assessment methods in counseling.

Course Contents

Basic concepts and principles of RPD, history, field and branches of RPD, psychological counseling process, psychological counseling theories, school counseling models, school counseling approaches finder, preventive and developmental), basic services / interventions and the roles and functions of the developmental school counselor; The aim of the developmental and preventive approach in RPD principles, the importance of life skills education in developmental approach.
